Complete Guide Soul Companion – Definition, Scientific Proof

A ‘soul companion’ and a ‘soulmate’ are interchangeable terms

I had initially set out to write about soulmates, but for unrequited lovers to understand the concept of a soulmate and analyze if their current love is actually their soulmate, it was important to give a brief background about types of connections that lead to an individual’s search for a soulmate.

But before heading over to the type of connections, let us first understand the real meaning of a soul companion. A soul companion is a person with a strong affinity, shared values, tastes, and often a romantic bond.

A soul connection is when two people feel they are connected on a soul level in a significant or extraordinary way. You might feel you have known each other in a past life or that your souls agreed before this life to meet up now.

A soulmate is a broad word, someone you have a strong connection with, who gives you a sense of tranquillity and integrity and yet challenges you to grow and be the finest version of yourself

Something deep inside tells you this is the perfect one for you. It’s as if there is a spiritual force pushing you to let go of everything you previously expected and to give of yourself completely.

To have a better understanding of the relationships that will form a part of your life and how to work with relationship chemistry will help you find the right person to fall in love with; someone who will match down to the depths of your soul.

In my blog Relationships and Unrequited Love, I have discussed a few such relationships, one of which is Soulmates. They say when you have found your soulmate; you don’t even need to speak, in order to connect with each other. A soulmate ensures your personal growth and achievement, even if it means losing you. The kindness that you receive from a soulmate is unconditional and non-judgemental.

There are a deep physical and emotional dependence and connection between an individual and his soulmate. Hence an unrequited love can never grow to form a soulmate connection, because two individuals need to love each other equally, in order to become soulmates.

It is the ‘mate’ part of soulmate where people often fall short. If you try to forcefully form a soulmate relationship with someone, you confuse yourself and the other person by adding sex to the equation. Things eventually fall apart. The simple truth is a soulmate relationship is formed naturally, and it takes time to build because it is based on trust and complete dedication to each other.

What is Soul Companion? Definition of Soul Companion –

A ’soul companion’ and a ‘soulmate’ are interchangeable terms, minus sex. A soul companion doesn’t share either the need or desire for a mated sexual union. Sometimes two individuals develop a strong liking for each other and get married, only to find out that they are sexually incompatible.

In some cases, they might still feel that the other person is everything that a soulmate should be, but they are unable to connect physically. Such relationships are ‘soul companion’ relationships. This is not as uncommon as you might think. A soul companion connects with you spiritually and knows you at the soul level. It is a very important and powerful place to occupy in someone’s life, but trying to persuade or expecting a soul companion to be a soulmate can end in a disaster.

Every individual’s needs relative to sexuality are different and complicated to understand. While it is fine to marry a soul companion, finding a soulmate in that person is highly timing-dependent and governed by many factors happening in each person’s life.

soul companion

Just like knowing a person to their soul doesn’t mean they are going to be a perfect biological mate, being your biological mate for some time in the past doesn’t make someone a soulmate too. Confusing?

Oftentimes same-gender companions feel a deep connection with each other; they might even feel a sexual edge. It gets confusing for both. In this case, understanding the concept of ‘soul companion’ can improve same-gender relationships. Soul companions are powerful connections, however, at the sexual level, it becomes a confusing topic and gets difficult to come to terms with because sex is also about definition and relation.

Once you have understood the importance of removing the need to sexually connect with your soul companion, you successfully open yourself to a very special relationship, avoiding the chance to lose the person or turn your relationship into unrequited love.

Now the question arisesHow many soul companions can a person have? The answer is – I don’t know! Really, there can be as many as 3 soul companions in a person’s lifetime. More is certainly possible but rare because the relationship requires a special kind of bonding that does not happen every day.

Just because you, as an unrequited lover, now know that there is something like a soul companion, don’t start imagining that your beloved can become your soul companion if you eradicate the desire for sex with him or her. Do not force friendships into being a soul companionship!

Is There Scientific Proof That Soulmates Exist? Do you really think soul companion Exits?

Thinking of a partner as your soulmate is an inaccurate way to look at a relationship. Looking at one study, titled “When It Hurts to assume that we were created for each other,” that asked participants to select between phrases and pictures that either prompt that their strive for love was a onetime, soulmate-y issue, or whether it was an unsmooth, bumpy, realistic journey. Unsurprisingly, the soulmate cluster was much negative regarding problems in their relationships than the more realistic cluster.

“People who consider themselves as soulmates are less happy after they consider the conflicts in their relationships,” says Spike W.S. Lee (not to be confused with Spike Lee) of the University of the provincial capital, co-authored the study with Norbert Schwarz of the University of Southern CA. “It’s inevitable. Within the soulmate frame, conflicts are unhealthy. Folks assume, ‘Well, perhaps we’re not the proper match.'”

In the book What If?

Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd theoretic queries, Randall Munroe, former NASA roboticist, tries to answer the question, “What if everybody had just one soulmate, a random person somewhere within the world?” Munroe crunches numbers and finds that, mathematically, the possibilities of finding your soulmate — if there is only one out there for you — are slim to none. For his functions, he defines a soulmate as somebody within the same age range as you, which implies every person has approximately five hundred million potential candidates.

“Let’s suppose you lock eyes with an average of several dozen new strangers daily,” writes Munroe. “If ten p.c of them are near to your age, that’s around 50,000 folks in your entire life. Provided that you have got 500,000,000 potential soul mates, it suggests that you’ll solely realize genuine love in one lifetime out of 10,000.”

If it’s cooked right down to scientific discipline, the likelihood of finding your one true soulmate is pretty lousy. Then again, the entire plan of soulmates is quite allergic to scientific discipline. It is a far more passing, sheer construct. Thus perhaps the very fact that numbers “prove” that soulmates are after not possible to search out is simply a bunch of bunk in and of itself, as a result of albeit you are doing need to realize your soulmate within the midst of half a billion others, perhaps that is simply the purpose — that your soulmate can recognize you, if you’re ready for it and search for it, against the percentages. Because we are indeed referring to a few metaphysical constructs.
