Unattainable Love Fad.

One reason why unattainable love continues to get the lover involved with karmically unclear people is social conditioning. Most of us are conditioned to fall in love with the knight in shining armour. Whoever is capable of creating that effect on you, is capable of making you fall in love with him, without you thinking about metaphysics or Karma. The typical unattainable love! At that time, you don’t think about the truth of the situation, visible differences between the two of you, about your heart, emotions or feelings. You are just following examples that you have been watching in the movies or reading about in romantic novels. Later, when you face rejection in unattainable love, you sit back and think “what did I do wrong”?

There are uncountable films that promote romantic prototypes. Love Story, Bringing up Baby, Wuthering Heights, Romeo and Juliet, to name a few. One of the most recent additions to this list is the Twilight saga. Based on the Stephenie Meyer’s book series, the saga made more than two billion dollars worldwide. The movie is a story of Bella, a shy and silent high school student who moves to Forks with her father, where she meets Edward Cullen, an adolescent vampire who is good looking, polite and rich. Jacob, a dapper wolf-man, is the bad-boy who falls in love with Bella. The funny thing is that I don’t even know why everyone falls for Bella. What makes her so special! One of the most prominent archetypes in the Twilight saga is that every man loves in a woman only the values that he represents. In this set-up, love is not the result of a conscious decision. Instead, it is a sexual urge that goes beyond the character’s will.

Mary Magdalene, according to the Bible, travelled with Jesus as one of his followers. She is said to have witnessed Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. Within the four Gospels she is named at least twelve times. This is more than most of the apostles. Mary Magdalene is considered to be a saint by the Catholic Church, however, was regarded in Western Christianity as a repentant prostitute or loose woman, though this accusation was not found in any of the four canonical gospels. It is possible that the description of Magdala as a place of fornication is the origin of the idea that arose in western Christianity that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute.

Couples profoundly in love also survive distance. We live through the loss of our beloved partner and individuals in an arranged marriage also grow to loving each other more than the lovers who claim to have fallen in love at first sight. All if this happens. Life moves on; and there’s a common denominator among those who are successful at understanding this mantra. The successful ones find human connection in other family and social relationships and make the most of them. On the other hand, the unsuccessful ones move to reading my next post!

Admittedly, it is not easy to pick up the pieces of your broken heart and move on. Isn’t this what we have learnt from the first fairy tale of our life? That true love never goes in vain and that they lived happily ever after? The truth is that a heart once broken is not the end of the world. There is not just one love possible in a lifetime. Especially, not when it was unattainable love!

Associate with someone who allows you to grow. As I have written in my post Hopeless Unrequited Love, a good relationship, unlike unattainable love, is where both partners feel the support of being pushed to achieve their best, yet being loved for what they are. Let your partner feel important in the relationship. Praise and encouragement can work better than power and controlling. Also, learn to cooperate and be patient.

Choose not to let these characters rule your decisions in real life. Choice is a matter of free-will, but the consequences of our choices are not freewill. All that appears to be chaotic in the world, is a result of freewill; the collective creations, and relative realities. There is also an absolute reality which is relative to the absolute principles of human consciousness. You can read about this in detail in my article Choose Well. In the physical world, we are simply learning and evolving these absolute principles; so, act wisely.
