Inner Peace in Unrequited Love.
In the spiritual sense, the let go method, when successfully completed, leaves an unrequited lover at total peace with himself. A state where you are able to love unconditionally; where there is inner silence, spaciousness, awareness, happiness and an experience of your true identity, your soul identity. As discussed in my blog Timeless Unrequited Love, the continuity of spiritual life is timeless. While everyone has a different belief about reincarnation, it is also a common belief that the soul chooses to re-embody into a physical dimension for further expression. According to Hindu mythology, unless one soul has become completely clear of the past Karma, it will keep re-embodying itself to achieve Moksha. In every new situation, it will attract the relevant cause and effect pattern that it has set up in the past. This is an ongoing part of our soul development.
So the next time you think “why me?” in unrequited love, know that it is a pattern that your soul has set-up in the past and it is your responsibility to come clear of it. When someone rejects your love, instead of whining and crying, know that you need to clear your Karma in order to be ready for a fulfilling relationship. Those of you who have read my blog More About Unrequited Love and Karma, would know that the Karma centre lies within you. The only way to make peace with agony of the past is to make peace with yourself. Once you’ve managed to do that, you’re clear, it’s that simple! What follows, is a very attractive state of being. It is the state of being at complete peace with yourself, which is achieved by ‘letting go’ of a hurtful thought, situation or person.
It is interesting to know that you cannot perpetually be in this state of being at peace with life after letting go of all the things that are not-so-good. As humans, we keep getting affected, and it is alright to do so. But once you have learnt the art of letting go, even if it fades away after some time, it never entirely goes away and whenever a difficult situation arises, you are reminded to let go of it and be at peace with yourself once again. And that is the art of living!
In other words, I wanted to find a way to come home to myself at will. I knew the key had something to do with letting go of bothersome matters and people and knowing that I am the world, I am complete and there is nothing beyond me. It took me a long time of intense experimentation, but I succeeded.
Understanding the Method
The ‘Let Go’ method is both a therapeutic technique and a powerful path to personal development. Basically, it teaches some easy steps to forgiveness. It is a path of practical spirituality. It helps you in your self-improvement; in fact, it can be used as a personal development plan in itself! It does not have anything to do with organized religion. It is a state of mind which allows you to go home to happiness, silence, spaciousness, unconditional love and complete inner peace. You can use the method all by yourself at any time. You can also have someone else like a coach, a trusted friend or a guide in consciousness help you; which makes it more powerful.
What you actually do in this method is use your awareness to notice certain conditions in yourself, like beliefs, thoughts, feelings, needs, etc. You accept those conditions, put them into words and ask yourself some questions which you then answer. Imagine you are travelling down a road which then forks out into several roads; all of which lead to the same place – Home. That’s how this method works as well. Each of those roads in the fork is one of the ways the method can be used, in several different techniques – each of which can be used on different aspects of our life and consciousness. Once you have learnt how to bring yourself ‘home’, it becomes your automatic response to difficult situations. Initially, it will work much of the time, but with time and as you become more proficient at using it, it will work most of the time.
I am going to write about this in detail in my next post. Please share your experiences in the comments section and I will add them to my future blogs.
